Shopify or WooCommerce? We work on both, so we'll tell you honestly.
Shopify
- You want hosting, security and checkout handled for you
- You sell direct to consumers and want apps for subscriptions, bundles and reviews
- Your team wants to run the store without a developer for every change
- You are on WooCommerce and spending more time on upkeep than on selling
WooCommerce
- Your store has to talk to an ERP, a wholesale channel or a dealer network
- You need custom logic: configurators, quote requests, tiered B2B pricing
- You want to own the code and host it where you choose
- Your WordPress content and SEO are a big part of how you sell
Not sure? The audit tells you whether to stay, move, or fix what you have.
A complex store needs more than a general-purpose developer.
Your last developer didn’t understand your ERP
Orders land in WooCommerce but never make it to NetSuite or Acumatica cleanly. Bundles arrive as one line, inventory drifts, and someone on your team fixes it by hand every week.
Your wholesale customers can’t self-serve
Dealers and retailers still email in orders. Tiered pricing lives in a spreadsheet, the store locator is out of date, and the B2B channel that pays the bills runs outside the store.
Every plugin update is a gamble
No staging, no backup before updates, no documented procedure. When checkout broke last time, nobody could say which change did it or how to roll it back.
Development and integration first. Everything else supports it.
Nearly all of our delivered work is engineering. Here is what that covers.
WooCommerce Development & Integration
The core of the business. We build and maintain WooCommerce stores that have to talk to an ERP, a wholesale channel, or a dealer network, and we keep them running after launch.
- ERP integration (NetSuite, Acumatica, SAP Business One)
- Product configurators and quote requests
- Wholesale and B2B portals
- Store locators and dealer networks
- Loyalty and subscription systems
- Checkout diagnostics and repair
- Migrations and re-platforming
- Moving off Wix, Squarespace or a page builder onto WooCommerce
Shopify Builds, Migrations & Operations
New stores, moves from WooCommerce, and the systems that sit around a Shopify store: subscriptions, wholesale, support tooling and compliance.
- New Shopify stores, built on a theme customized for your brand
- WooCommerce to Shopify migrations, with redirects from every old URL
- Subscription programs with tiered VIP membership
- Wholesale and reseller channels via Faire alongside DTC
- Bulk and event-gifting pricing tiers
- Multi-brand storefronts under one parent company
- Help-desk integration (Gorgias) with order lookup and self-serve tracking
- Cause-commerce mechanics: per-order donation tracking and running impact totals
- Guarantee and refund workflows
- Compliance-heavy product pages (FDA disclaimers, regulated-claim copy, review platforms)
- Builds at 30,000+ customer scale
Design Implementation & Front-End Build
We build what your designer designed, and we do not redesign it on the way. You get the file built out faithfully, every decision a flat comp leaves open made and written down, and handed over so the client can edit their own copy afterward.
- We build from your Figma or Adobe files, and we do not redesign them
- The decisions a comp leaves open get made and documented: phone layouts, empty states, text that runs long
- The client edits their own copy and images afterward, without coming back to you or to us
- New pages composed from the components you designed, in the page editor
- Keyboard and screen reader support built in rather than retrofitted
- A redesign runs alongside the live page, so the client never sees it half-finished
- Cart, checkout and product pages matched to the rest of the design
Security & Infrastructure
For stores on end-of-life servers, holding credentials in source, or already compromised. We contain it, preserve the evidence and rebuild clean, and we tell you when you need a forensics specialist instead of us.
- A hacked site shut down, cleaned up and rebuilt
- A written record of what happened, in case you need it later
- Off old servers that stopped getting security updates
- Passwords and keys out of the code, where anyone could read them
- Blocking the traffic that is trying to break in
- Two-factor login, and a review of who still has access
- On a rebuild we move your data only, so nothing hidden comes with it
Data & Internal Tools
Integration gets data into the store. This gets it out and into the rest of the business.
- Custom internal apps built on Woo and Shopify store data
- Retention and win-back programs
- Customer segmentation and cohort analysis
- Automated client and account communication
- Cross-store reporting and dashboards
- Wholesale account health tracking
Ongoing Engineering
The cadence that keeps a complex store from breaking: documented, scheduled, with a named person on the other end.
- Plugin lifecycle management with documented update SOPs
- Security patching and access review
- Email deliverability
- Performance and caching
- Weekly or bi-weekly check-ins
Paid media is not a headline service. For existing development clients we can coordinate Meta and Google Ads with the store work. Ask on the call.
Prototype Studio for made-to-spec parts.
A configurator for manufacturers whose products are specified, not picked off a shelf. Your customers design the part on screen, see it in 2D and 3D as they build it, save and share the design, then send a structured quote request instead of an email. Your team reviews it in WordPress with the drawing attached, and the finished spec comes formatted ready to paste into your ERP.
- Visual configurator with live 2D and 3D preview
- Customers save, share and reuse their designs
- Structured quote requests, not a contact form
- PDF spec sheet on your letterhead, drawn from the design
- Staff review in WordPress, with the spec formatted for pasting into your ERP
- Runs inside WordPress and WooCommerce, not a separate app
AI does the work that scales. Humans make the decisions that matter.
Automated checks run on every change we ship, and a human reviews anything they flag before it touches your live store. You get the speed without handing your store to a script.
QA on every deploy
Every change is tested before it goes live: visual regression, functional checks and performance. A developer reviews anything flagged before it ships.
Session-level diagnostics
For checkout and integration failures we install session recording under your own account and show you the real failing customer session, not a guess.
Documented procedures
Plugin updates, backups and rollbacks follow a written SOP with artifacts saved to your shared drive before anything proceeds.
Data out of the store
Reporting, segmentation and internal tools built on your store data, so the numbers you run the business on come from the systems that produce them.
You describe it. We prototype it. You click it before you pay for it.
Turning a half-formed idea into a working thing is the part clients keep mentioning. The process is built around it.
- 01
Tell us what the store has to do
A 15-minute call. We ask about the systems around the store: ERP, wholesale accounts, dealers, fulfillment. Then we scope it.
- 02
Click the prototype, then approve the estimate
Estimates ship with a live interactive prototype: the full page at desktop, tablet and phone widths, with the filters and buttons actually working. Fixed price, phased SOW, not-to-exceed cap.
- 03
We build, ship and keep it running
QA on every deploy, a plain-English recap of every change, and a weekly or bi-weekly check-in with named next steps once you are live.
Prototype before you pay
Every estimate for a custom build comes with a working prototype you can open in a browser. Not a mockup image. Filters filter, states change, and the page works at desktop, tablet and phone widths. You approve what you have already clicked through.
Start with a fixed price. Scale into a cadence.
Scoped estimates with a fixed price, not an hourly meter. Every number below is published so you can budget before we talk.
Store Audit + Fix Plan
A top-to-bottom review of the store and the systems it connects to, with a prioritized fix plan you can act on with us or without us.
- Technical and integration audit
- Prioritized fix roadmap
- Performance baseline
- Credited toward a sprint if you continue
Fix Sprint
Something specific is broken: checkout, a payment method, a sync. We diagnose it from the recorded failure, not a guess, then fix it in a defined 7–14 day sprint.
- Session-level diagnostics: we show you the recorded failure
- Defined scope and timeline
- Fixed price, agreed before work starts
- QA on every deploy
Ongoing Engineering
For stores that connect to other systems and cannot afford to break. A standing cadence with a named person on the other end.
- Weekly or bi-weekly check-in with named next steps
- Documented plugin updates with backups first
- Security, 2FA and email deliverability
- A named point of contact
Integration Project
A configurator, a store locator across thousands of retailers, a new ERP sync. Estimated after a working prototype you can click through.
- Interactive prototype before you approve
- Phased SOW with a not-to-exceed cap
- Fixed price per phase
- Handoff documentation
Phased SOW with a not-to-exceed cap
Phase 1 is capped. Phase 2 is quoted only after Phase 1 findings are delivered. You never approve a number you have not seen the basis for.
Prototype before you pay
Custom builds are estimated with a live interactive prototype: the full page at desktop, tablet and phone widths, with the filters and buttons actually working.
When something breaks
QA runs on every deploy and there is a rollback procedure for every change. If our work breaks, tell us within 30 days of delivery and we fix it on our time.
Satisfaction guarantee
If a deliverable does not do what the scope says it will do, tell us within 30 days of delivery and we fix it at no charge until it does.
Different industries, different platforms, the same careful work.
Three WooCommerce stores connected to the systems behind them, and a store we moved from WooCommerce to Shopify and still maintain.
A configurator that turns a custom part into a structured quote request
Engineers design a custom wire part on screen, see it in 2D and 3D as they build it, and send a structured quote request instead of an email. Staff review it in WordPress with the drawing attached, and paste the spec into NetSuite.
- Customers design the part themselves and watch it take shape as they go
- Quote requests arrive complete, so nobody chases a customer for dimensions
- Every request generates a spec sheet on the company's own letterhead
- Specs land in a form staff can drop straight into NetSuite
- Customers can save a configuration and send it to a colleague
Replacing a fragile store locator for 5,146 authorized retailers
The locator that sends customers to authorized salons ran on a Google Sheet that had to be synced by hand. We replaced it, linked every location to its WooCommerce wholesale account, and gave retailers a way to edit their own listing.
- Retailers update their own listing, so staff stop fielding changes by email
- Every edit is logged with a reason, so staff can see who changed what and when
- Customers pick what they came for: buy in salon, book a service, or find a stylist
- Each stylist's affiliate link sits on their own listing
- Only locations tied to a real wholesale account appear, so the map cannot go stale
- The retailer list is protected from scraping
Replacing paid plugins with code they own, across seven properties
Seven properties across two brands, all feeding one ERP. We replaced five paid plugins with lighter versions built for their sites, and built the publishing tools they could not buy off the shelf.
- Five paid plugins replaced with lighter versions built for their sites
- Annual renewals gone, including one plugin dropped over a critical security flaw
- Staff kept the same screens and menus, so nothing needed relearning
- A webinar library visitors can search by what was said out loud
- Search results open on the exact slide where the phrase was spoken
- Product pages built from their designer's files, and editable by their own team
Five years of maintenance through major growth
We moved the store from WooCommerce to Shopify and have maintained it since, as the business grew several times over.
- Products, categories, customers, order history, pages and blog posts moved across
- Redirects from every old URL
- Every theme change in version control, tracked and reversible
Results reflect specific client engagements and are not a guarantee of outcomes.
What you get every time.
The same recap the weekly check-ins produce, in writing, after every piece of work.
A real person, on the call every week.

Ivan Rodriguez
Founder & Lead Engineer
I started I Fix Ecommerce after watching capable companies get handed WooCommerce stores that could not talk to the systems they actually run on. The store worked in a demo. It did not work with the ERP, the wholesale accounts or the dealer list.
Most of my work since has been that plumbing: NetSuite and Acumatica syncs, configurators for technical catalogs, store locators across thousands of retailers, and the checkout repairs that follow when someone else’s plugin update goes wrong.
When you work with I Fix Ecommerce you work with me. I am on the weekly call, I write the recap, and every deploy is QA tested before it touches your live store.
We are selective about who we work with, for your benefit.
We are a great fit if you…
- Are a marketing or design agency that needs the engineering handled
- Run a WooCommerce store that connects to other systems, or needs to
- Have an ERP, a wholesale channel or a dealer network behind the store
- Have been let down by a developer who did not understand that stack
- Want a documented process for updates, backups and rollbacks
- Prefer a fixed-price scope over an hourly meter
- Want one named person who answers, every week
- Value seeing what was changed and why, in plain English
Probably not a fit if you…
- Need a $200 quick fix (we do thorough work)
- Need campaigns and content more than you need engineering
- Are looking for overnight results
- Do not see the value in testing before something goes live
- Need a large enterprise team on site (we are a focused boutique)
- Would rather manage a freelancer marketplace than a partner
Your client stays your client.
Marketing and design agencies bring us in for the engineering. You hold the engagement, we invoice you rather than your client, and access and decisions come through you.
You own the relationship
We work under your engagement and invoice you, not the business you are working for. We are not going to pitch your client on the work you already do for them.
Access and decisions come through you
Credentials, approvals and scope questions go to you. We do not go around you to your client to unblock ourselves.
We build what you designed
Your Figma or Adobe files built out faithfully. The decisions a flat comp leaves open get made and written down, and your design is not quietly reworked on the way to production.
Recaps you can forward
Every change written up in plain English, so you can send it straight to your client without translating it first.
Work also reaches us by referral from WooCommerce and CheckoutWC.
Questions we hear all the time.
We work on both Shopify and WooCommerce. On Shopify we build new stores, move stores over from WooCommerce and maintain them. On WooCommerce we specialize in stores that connect to an ERP, a wholesale channel or a dealer network.
The Store Audit + Fix Plan is $1,250 flat. Fix Sprints start at $2,500 and most run $3,500–$8,500. Ongoing Engineering is month to month at Maintain $2,500, Grow $6,500 or Scale $12,500, each with a monthly hours cap. Integration projects are scoped estimates, typically $8,500–$25,000. For Shopify, a new store is typically $1,200–$12,000 and a WooCommerce to Shopify migration typically $4,000–$20,000. Every number is fixed before work starts.
Yes. NetSuite, Acumatica and SAP Business One are the three we have integrated with WooCommerce in production, covering orders, bundles as line items, customers and inventory. For other systems the pattern is the same: we map what the ERP expects, build the sync, and test it against real orders before it goes live.
Yes. For a salon brand with 5,146 authorized retailers we tied every location on the public store locator to a real wholesale account, so the map can never show a retailer who is no longer active. Those retailers sign in to update their own listing, and their wholesale pricing follows the account.
Every deploy is QA tested before it goes live and every change has a rollback procedure. Plugin updates follow a written SOP with backups saved first. If something we shipped breaks, tell us within 30 days of delivery and we fix it on our time, not billed to you.
We reply within 1 business day on any channel, Mon–Fri 9am–5pm Pacific. That is the same commitment whether you are a new inquiry or a client messaging us in Slack. Most projects start within 2 business days of approval. Fix Sprints run 7–14 days.
No. Projects are scoped and fixed price. Ongoing Engineering is month to month with no cancellation fee. We keep clients by delivering, not by locking them in.
Every change is tested automatically before it goes live: visual regression, functional checks, performance and security. A developer reviews anything flagged before it ships. Fewer bugs, faster delivery, and a real person making the final call.
Yes. You work with Ivan, the founder and lead engineer, on every call and in Slack. No junior account managers and no ticket queues.
That is what the Fix Sprint is for. We reproduce the failure from a recorded session, fix it in a defined sprint at a fixed price, and hand you a plain-English recap. If you want more help after that, great. If not, no hard feelings.
Not as a headline service. For existing development clients we can coordinate Meta and Google Ads with the store work so landing pages, tracking and campaigns line up. Ask on the call.
